FairSights Mediation for business conflicts

Proven approach

Mutual frictions and tensions within and between teams can seriously hamper the development and growth of organisations and companies. This is certainly true if they last (too) long, are not sufficiently expressed and slowly but surely escalate into deep and nasty conflicts. Mediation is a proven, effective and sustainable approach to prevent escalation and resolve conflicts together.

Our specialisations

FairSights Mediation specialises in guiding with conflicts between employers and employees (employment mediation), within teams and management boards (team mediation) and with business relations (business mediation). Based on years of experience in working with (family) businesses, governments and non-profit organisations, we have also developed a unique approach to discuss and exploit differences of opinion on strategic direction (see strategy & mediation). The mediations are in principle supervised by Robert Bood, registered MfN mediator, if necessary or desired in cooperation with other mediators.

Strategy ánd mediation in one

FairSights Mediation specialises in guiding with conflicts between employers and employees (employment mediation), within teams and management boards (team mediation) and with business relations (business mediation). Based on years of experience in working with (family) businesses, governments and non-profit organisations, we have also developed a unique approach to discuss and exploit differences of opinion on strategic direction (see strategy & mediation). The mediations are in principle supervised by Robert Bood, registered MfN mediator, if necessary or desired in cooperation with other mediators.

  1. After parties have indicated their willingness to go through a mediation process together and business arrangements have been made with the mediator about costs, set-up and preconditions, one or more intake interviews take place with all parties. In line with the requirements set by the Mediators Federation of the Netherlands (MfN) and laid down in a joint mediation agreement, these talks are, like the entire mediation process, confidential.

  2. The 'real' mediation process consists of one or more meetings in which the parties meet and explore, discuss and resolve differences together. The steps in a mediation process follow 'the Harvard method of negotiation' where, by the way, parties do not have to agree on everything and may conclude that 'they agree to disagree' on or more topics. Once the conversation between parties gets going, they set an agenda together with the mediator to find working solutions for each topic.

  3. Once parties have reached agreement on all major points or have concluded that they prefer to end the mutual cooperation, agreements are laid down as clearly and practically as possible, whether or not in a formal settlement agreement. In doing so, they can also agree on how they will stick to agreements made and how they will deal with frictions and rising emotions in the future.
